Trash Collection and Yard Waste
The city of Dublin contracts with Rumpke for yard waste, trash, and recycling pickup. Rumpke collects yard waste in Riverside Woods on Mondays, while trash and recyclables are collected on Wednesdays. If a holiday falls before the pickup day, the collection is delayed by one day.

Dublin Trash and Recycling Holiday Schedule

All trash and recycling cans must be stored inside garages or completely hidden from view of the street and neighbors.
Fall Leaf Collection
The City of Dublin offers free curbside leaf collection each fall. For our zone, collection occurs bi-weekly from October through early December.
Please rake your leaves to the curb, making sure not to place them in the street or block storm drains. The city's crews will collect them based on the bi-weekly schedule.
For more details, visit Dublin’s Leaf Collection Page.
Trees in the Neighborhood
The city of Dublin, Ohio, established the Tree Preservation Code § 153.140, which outlines rules regarding planting requirements and tree maintenance for homeowners.

For Riverside Woods residents, this code primarily impacts us in two ways:
-
Street Trees: Refer to Code § 153.134.
-
Protected Zones: Also known as No-Disturb Zones or No-Build Zones, these can be found on your property plat if they exist.
Street Trees
The city of Dublin requires each subdivision developer to plant “Street Trees” along each street within the public right-of-way. Only the City of Dublin can plant, remove, prune, or treat any tree or shrub in any public way, street, alley, park, or other property owned by the city. To do so, one must obtain a public tree permit from the city, available here: Tree Removal Permit.
If you have an issue with one of these trees along the street in front of your house, contact the city of Dublin. The city routinely visits Riverside Woods to trim branches of the street trees.

Protected, No-Disturb, No-Build Zones
These zones, located throughout Dublin and in Riverside Woods, come with rules relating to trees. Established when the subdivision was planned, these zones can be found on your property plat.

Any tree in these zones with a diameter of six inches or larger at DBH (Diameter at Breast Height, which is 4.5 feet from the ground) is considered a protected tree. A tree removal permit is REQUIRED before removing any protected trees from your property. Permits are not hard to get if the tree is dead or dying, affected with any injurious disease, fungus, insect, or other pests, or constitutes a hazard to persons or property. If in doubt, contact the city.
